Mandela Day Princess Party - Huge Success!

Last Saturday was the long anticipated Princess Party - in support of Mandela Day. We wanted girls to get together, have fun, and for 67 minutes show their support for girls who have been raped and abuse. And what a turn out! We exceeded our expectations, with more than 1000 signatures on the Ava Secrets Pledge Wall. Wow!

Girls got to mingle with celebs Charmaine Noy (Kfm), Ayanda (Good Hope FM) and the beautiful Tammy-Anne Fortuin. Thanks ladies for coming to support this great cause!

I had a wonderful time meeting all the girls and having some good fun! I really hope that this becomes and annual event, and next year, even BIGGER!!

Events like these are not possible without the support of GREAT sponsors! The biggest thanks has to go to all of the following great companies:

and not to forget the *incredible* Code Teen, Club X and Cavendish Square.

Remember, this day was not just about having loads of fun, but highlighting a very important cause: the rape and abuse of teenage girls. We are here to support you, and these events highlight the fact that we are ALL in this together: we are all sisters and friends.

Every Girl is a Princess!!

Excitement has been building this week for the big Princess Party tomorrow - in support of Mandela Day on Monday.  What are you doing with your 67 minutes to show your support?

I have teamed up with the most amazing people on this! Ava Secrets, Code Teen, Club X and Cavendish Square have all come together on this project.  Tomorrow we are all going to ROCK Cavendish and show our support for this amazing cause!

Need to know what's going down? Here is ALL the info you'll need!

Place: Cavendish Square Centre Court - that's the one next to Col'Cacchio

Time: the 67 minutes start at 12pm SHARP! But - We everything we have planned couldn't possibly fit into an hour, so come early (from 10am) and have fun!

What's happening:
  • Mini makeovers from Smashbox (don't you love their cosmetics!)
  • Hair from Carlton Hair International (a bad hair day is NOT on the cards for tomorrow!)
  • Bring your BFF and have your pic taken in the photo booth
  • Creative Doodle will be adding some art to our Ava Secrets Pledge Wall
What to bring with :
  • SHOES! Every girl needs a pair that makes her feel extra special - and there are so many girls that do not have that privilege that you and I have. So, bring a pair of new or good used shoes and donate them to the Princess Slipper Project!
Anything else? Well, did you now that the first 1000 girls to sign their names get a Ava Secrets tin and tampons? Now you know! You'll also receive a bracelet and magazine from Club X, a sim card from Cell C plus have your name entered into the prize draws

And you don't want to miss the opportunity to win some of these prizes....

  • 20 x Cell C LIVE FM Handset phones
  • 6 x R250 accessory hampers from Sass Diva
  • 3 x make-up hampers from Smashbox
  • 10 x R600 pamper packs from Clicks
  • 4 x full sets of Ava Secrets
  • 3 x "Girls Night In Party Packs" from Ava. includes DVD chick flick, popcorn, mani/pedi sets, candle and face masks. Everything you need for a great night in with your BFF!
Girls loving having fun - and there will be plenty of it tomorrow! But remember that all of this is for a good cause - by signing the Ava Secrets Pledge Wall, every girl will stand up against rape and abuse against woman, and show their support for all our sisters who have gone through that traumatic experience.

I hope to see all of you there!

Perfect Princess

Did  you watch the Royal Wedding on Saturday? I was just about glued to my TV!

The guest list was a real who's who of the fashion world, plus the ultimate James Bond, AKA Roger Moore, also being present!

Charlene Wittstick looked amazing - that Armani gown was simple, elegant and just perfect! And didn't you just *love* her hair piece! Quite a bold move, wearing no jewelry at all, but I think she made it work!

Our girl from Benoni made sure there were some local elements during the ceremony. Did you spot the Afrikaans welcoming? Too cute! And then, The Click Song!! And at the perfect moment too.

This might be the largest wedding cake ever! Again, loving the local flavour with the pretty Proteas.

Princess Charlene changed into another Armani gown for the evening reception.

Just goes to show....anyone can be a Princess!

Don't forget about the fabulous Mandela Day Princess Party on the 16th of July at Cavendish Square in Cape Town. All the details are my Facebook page - and I'll be giving more details as we get closer to the big day! Hope to see you there!

Hope everyone has a fab Monday!
love Ava xx
